Tips

Posting Tip:

- Include the name of your city, and nearby cities in your ad. Your ad will show up when people enter their city into the search box.  Same for strain names.

Safety Tips:

- Be cognizant of rules in our political systems regarding the use and trade of medical cannabis.

- Conduct transactions at locations where you feel comfortable and in control.

- Conduct transactions in municipalities where political rules that support medical cannabis are obeyed by local police.

- Deal locally within a collective.

- Have a friend with you, or tell a friend or family member where you will be.

- When in doubt, find another route.

- Grow your own herb.

Providers And Patients Take Note:

The following was posted on another medical cannabis website (BudTrader) in the California section on July 31, 2009:

——-[Punk Police set me up.
Well Everyone, I just went through hell. 5 days in county jail. Stay out of 818 area, and please be very careful who you deal with. Apparently these cops feel they are saving the world by taking people/prop 215 patients off the street. A narc called me back from after placing my ad. I asked him several times if he was a prop 215 patient and he said “yes.” Then when I got to location he through the money in the my car and grabbed the medicine. When I asked them why a prop 215 patient was being arrested, they said there is a “GRREY AREA” in the law. What the hell does that mean. I am a prop 215 patient/caregiver and I would have never been in there city or even talked to that narc if he told me he wasn’t a valid patient. 5 days later, i have bailed out and now I am fighting a “sales” case. If any one has any advice please feel free to reply back. Thank you and be careful friends. Its getting ugly out there.]——-

It’s good to have a clear protocol for medical cannabis exchange that ensures you operate within the political rules regarding cannabis in your region. This might involve asking new patients for documentation of ID and medical cannabis status, verifying this status with the patient’s doctor or state agency, and having patients join your collective or assign you as a caregiver. Of course this is all absurd, but it can be good to operate within some rules, while keeping complete legalization also in view.

None of the above is advice from a lawyer.
